I can feel the bilge rising from my stomach, as this proposal reminds me of the atrocities he committed on so many innocent people, and the bitter legacy he left on the victims' families and friends.

Do those who inhabit the cloisters of the legal profession have any feeling for those who will suffer, for the rest of their lives, from the atrocity committed on their loved ones? I think not.

What has a happened to the legal system, in Western countries, that places the rights of violent perpetrators above that of their victims?
