Our country is too small to balance trade with China via increased consumption of Chinese goods and services, Australia is not the USA. Nobody except TDS suffering individuals would suggest that. We provide China excellent raw materials in volume at a good price and they provide value added goods to the worlds consumers.
That said many countries are busy diversifying supply away from China. Our trade will increase with other countries over time if they are succesful.
