Alex Zhu, founder and CEO of ES Foundry, a South Carolina-based startup that plans to manufacture solar cells, believes the U.S. will see explosive growth in solar manufacturing due to the domestic content bonus in the Inflation Reduction Act.“While there have been module-level manufacturing announcements, many companies still depend on foreign manufacturers for the solar cell,” Zhu said. He sees 2025 as a turning point, however. “2025 is the year when the American people will really begin to see the benefits of federal and state-level investments in the solar industry, and I can’t wait.”
