If there are two islands of people isolated from the rest of the world . the first is vaccinated against Wuhan strain via the spike protein only , the second is unvaccinated. both are exposed to a single case of Wuhan virus .
come back in a year . the first vaccinated island have eradicated the Wuhan strain and are now fighting delta .
the second island have developed natural immunity against the whole Wuhan virus , but when other strains tried to emerge those peoples antibodies can also recognise those variants.
