thats sounds similar to whats been going on in Adelaide!
Pubs with live music that have been there since the 1850's are having to stop live entertainment just because some yuppies have built an apartment complex next to the pub!!!
Anyway all the live music crowd got together and went to the government about it and no complaints have been heard since. Might suggest your scene does the same, good luck!
