This is the sort of thinking that get most young investors into trouble.

they just tag along what is trending on social media with a one line puncher, some get a lucky break and they think they are the expert in investing and make call on what the future will look like while having no idea on how to read balance sheet nor have an understand of the business model

Do you know how banks make most of their money? it is from mortgage, business and personal lending,
BNPL compete with credit cards and these earning don't account much for banks earning

do you see banks talk much about credit card in their report? No because its earning is not as important as their mortgage and business book and the whole investor community horned in on their net interest margin on mortgage book when they release the result, they look for provision of bad debt on these books etc.

BNPL is just a new season fashion, they will come and they will go out just as fast as previous fashion because their model is unstainable
before BNPL there was CDO fashion, if your banks don't join CDO they are missing out, well the banks that did join went bust
and before that there is dotcom fashion where if you have a website and lose money you get top dollar, all of these business went bust.

there is also a SPAC fashion going lately but it mostly out of the public eyes in Australia but in the US they are listed and a lot of them are private, this fashion will soon goes out when rate start heading north

there will be many more fashions to come, the one that understand the market and the business model will stay out while the one that
want to chase new fashion will keep chasing new fashion and eventually at some point in their journey they woke up worked out
that they are not actually investing but they are chasing fashion
