A recent post included "baited breath" which is quite common but it's hard to understand what it means whereas "bated breath" makes sense as it means "lessened" or "restrained".
Presumably if good english was encouraged then it would be so much easier for all otherwise we will end up with some form of a mongrel language not easily understood by other english language countries (some will say we have that already).
