I don’t think the total for CPL on 28th June is correct. On 27th we had a total of 12 305 049 then on 28th we had 11 152 269 which is a difference of 1 152 780. However on 28th only 1 082 348 were traded. More likely some broker forgot to report for that day. We will need to wait until approx 2.00pm est for the report of 29th to be available.

Since the last report date on ASIC website we have seen a further approx 1.7 mill shorted. 542 996 on 29th June, 146 153 on 2nd July, 325 049 on 3rd July and 614 397 yesterday. However, yesterday would have seen some legitimate short covering. ASX publish daily gross short sales on their website.
