Fair enough sam. Point taken. Yes, I am defending others, but for selfish reasons. Would have much less of an idea about O&G specifics, helpful websites, etc. if it not for the posts made by these people. Yes, I could find the leads/info elsewhere, but not with the same efficiency.
The theory you mention as an, "excuse? lie?",

is a theory made, held, posted by said people, hence me drawing my opinion that you inferred they had lied. Sorry if I read this incorrectly.
Everything else in your original post is a fair conclusion and agreed with.
I will continue against your opinion to defend others from wrong statements in order to learn more from their posts in the future. HC gives me the most efficient means to find leads on companies, tools, and education to help my trading. My geographic isolation limits me to the net for these things.
