These cases always seem to comefrom NSW due to their laws regarding service of Judgement. In states such as QLD, WA and VIC - personal service of documents has to be effected before judgement can be entered / the countdown begins.
In NSW all service of documents requires is them being mailed to the last registered address for the customer. This is the main problem. Mailing a statement of claim to a customers "address" (it's known they don't live there in most cases) means they have 0 idea and the only reason they find out is when they apply for credit.
Lion is just playing by the rules in place currently, although quite aggressively, they are doing nothing "wrong". Both parties at fault ethically, changes need to happen that won't. I see PNC and CCP picking up market share from CLH over the next 18 months as the press seems to have a target on CLH - probably arising from the CEOs giant ego.
