The possibility of a bi oil discovery in Northern Colorado's Denver-Julesburg basin has caught the attention of many in the state's energy industry.
That may change if the first official production numbers of a well called Jake 2-01H hold over time.
The well run by EOG Resources produced about 14000 barrels of oil in 8 days during October.
That works out to 1750 bopd,more than 10 times the amount of oil that wells in the basin typically produce.
EOG has experience in other shale plays across the nation.




Samson holds 42000 net acres/58000 gross acres in the Denver-Julesburg basin.
