We've written an application that records the reported sales of the official stores and larger non-official sellers of a number of ASX / NZX listed brands selling on Tmall.com (China's largest eCommerce destination by far).
The idea is to get an idea of directional trends per brand and monitor momentum. It is an imperfect measure because:
1 - Tmall updates sales volume data in batches and cycles, and each brands movements are not synchronised
2 - We have not been measuring all the brands at the same time, as you can see in the table below some brands have been measured starting from differing dates
However we can still divide total sales captured in a month by the number of days captured to get "Average Sales Per Day" per brand, and see the trend in that number, which serves a purpose of understanding the momentum / demand of a given brand.
