Short answer is No.
Conceptually when we look for IV it is the added value that the company's future cash flows bring. There is always a "Continuing Value (CV)" after whatever cutoff. In my model I stopped at 10 years a determine what the CV would amount too. I could just have easily stopped after 5 years.
I've expressed the IV as a range as the "answer" is normally distributed curve - the mean and std deviation. It's a statistics thing.
