I think your misunderstanding what this company is trying to do here.
The fact that there are many comps that have launched their drugs in patch form is why this is potentially such good tech.
They have not made the drug the point is others can use this to deliver the drug in a more versatile way.
Im most impressed with the potentially variable way these things might work ie different delivery at different times of the day. What immediately springs to mind with the microchip control is hormone treatments which could more naturally mimic the bodies diurnal production but im sure there are others.
Patches are like a continuous infusion and this tech certainly seems to have application (no pun intended).
BTW if this stuff gets 10% of the market we can prob all retire.
