I'm not that old but I'm still of the opinion that what they did was pretty bad actually. Heroin destroys people and the people around the user, they were trafficking commercial quantities for personal gain.
I don't exactly agree with the death penalty for trafficking drugs but they would've been well aware of harsh penalties for drug crimes in international countries, they decided to take the risk. Australia is too soft imho.
