I suppose it could be argued that in that situation Iraq attacking Israel it is in fact attacking the US by viewing Israel as a defacto part of the US.
Yes though if Israel was attacked by Iraq then Israel should have the right to defend itself. But this does not justify the US attacking Iraq in the first place.
