Going back even furher than Barlow/Chambers I knew 2 girls who were bringing heroin into Australia by sea.
They would travel the home leg Penang Singapore Perth by ship,stash the H in an air con duct in their cabin and disembark mt. They would then re visit the boat on open days as a "tourist" when it was still in port and remove the H, no customs home and host. Worked like a Swiss clock for years. You may remember the case, Lorraine and her 18 year old son Aaron Williams were eventually sprung in Penang and did a fair bit of porridge. I remember Aaron as a 2 year old,left to fend for himself when his mum frequented the land of nod.
All very sad, illogical ,incomprehensible, repugnant and doomed to fail but hey shite happens.
