"DAP sees new boost East of Suez demand now the motor

Global DAP/MAP markets have moved into another gear. Asian and Pacific importers have come off the sideline and into the game for more spot tonnes. Pakistan has bought about 130,000t DAP/MAP since the weekend, Australia another 45,000t and needs more. Settlement on the first India 2010-11 contract for Russian tonnage is also thought imminent.
This East of Suez demand resurgence is coinciding with ongoing Latin American interest. The US and West Europe have slowed down, but it seems this will not matter to price dynamics nearterm."
