So if we assume the lithium brine is only below the surface expression of the Salar (extremely pessismistic and improbable).
Surface Area = 2800 hectares
We have depth of brine to at least 100m as per the TEM survey, not sure at full depth, but taking that as a minimum.
As per seimic it could be upto 250-400m.
Depth = 100m
Specific yield I'm going to assume a fairly low 10%, and anything more is upside.
Spec Yield = 10%
Finally, grades at surface were above 140/150 peaking at over 200... Assuming 150 mg/L Li then (with higher grades a bonus)..
Grade = 150 mg/L
Lithium contained estimate = 2800*10000*100*0.1*0.15/1000*5.33 = 223KT LCE
This is taking pretty conservative figures, a more blue sky estimate below:
Width of Aquifer from TEM - 4600M
Length of Aquifer from comments - 8000M (Greenwing noted the northern part of the salar is lower grade, and is affected by hotsprings and such diluting it)
Depth of Aquifer - 200M
Grade - As per TEM, surface resistivity is a bit more so there's some chance we might have higher grades below as these were all surface. 250mg/L
Specific Yield - Keep at 10%, Galan uses 12.5% SY for their sands, highest assumptions are 20% from LEL (which is just not realistic).
Lithium contained estimate = 4600*8000*200*0.1*0.25/1000*5.33 =980KT LCE
Just some napkin maths for when the drill finally begins (if the lifestylers can actually do what they promise). Fairly good potential, but a relatively smaller project, like an Anson, rather than a Galan.
