i have been watching for a few weeks with a bit of trepidation. this index gave me some hope five to six weeks ago even though japan and the other big economies were a worry .

japan still a worry but has anyone been following any forward indicators from china - i know money supply and loans have exploded but what about the purchasing managers index and other leading indicators - all the press want to highlight is the negatives.

usa have a few tentative positive signs in early leading indicators but one would expect japans to get worse still,
