Your analysis may be a little flawed.
BHP will still ship in lots of 10t, just send fewer ships (I work in transport and supply chain)
so the calc is
profit = (10 x 5) - 20 = 30
If BHP sold 60t in total for the year, they would only ship 6 ships, for a profit of $180, rather than ship 10 ships for a profit of $100 (as per your reasoning)
They just send fewer ships, but still load them up
