Interesting thread. Club-Sharer in an ideal world we only marry one life partner and we live happily ever after. Life and people are more complex than that. I married at 18 and was divorced 7 years later. Research shows that men aged between 18 - 25 years believe they will meet their dream woman/soul mate and spend the rest of their life blissfully happy together. How often does this actually happen? Given that most of us don't reach emotional maturation until our late 20s and hormones are rampant at this stage, its not surprising so many marriages don't go the distance.
I'm a realist and a fatalist. I have been with a fantastic, loyal, loving man for 19 years and we have two healthy children. We have agreed to stay together whilst we are happy and will marry before we are 50. Life is a journey and its an interesting one. Marriage is not for everyone, but well done to those whose do go the distance.
