Woodside sounds very bullish on Mauritania, uncharateristiclly so. Tiof and Banda are both described as 'signficant hydrocarbons'.
What caught my eye is Ian Jackson's reference to potential Banda gas development and numerous tie-in prospects to Chinguetti.
We know that Banda could have as much as 2-3 tcft of gas, this is another 100mbbls of oil equivalent and ahve as much as 50c value to HDR. But economics and feasibility will be difficult. However, the mere fact that Woodside is raising this as a possibility takes it out of the realm of wishful thinking and would be a absolute bonus because HDR's valuation now contains jack all for the gas.
Exciting times ahead.
