Could also be their new Chinese partner building up a 10% blocking stake to ensure that they get the ore they just basically paid for. Happened with AGM, MIS, AXO, etcetera; if you are putting a big investment in, you want to protect it. Makes sense to do it at 55c versus more at 85c.
