I usually refer to this as the, 'changing of the guards'

I'm not sure if this analogy actually stems from the investment community or through my own strange fascination of witnessing these live events at Buckingham Palace on many occasions as a child...

... but within the institutional world I think it's most commonly referred to as, 'stealing candy from a baby'
