It would not be unreasonable to expect one of the banks to make an announcement to quell speculation about its financial health next week by close of business 25 April 2008 or the Thursday before ANZAC day.
What disclosures they make is speculative. What the government already knows, the banks know, the regulators and APRA know is not necessarily what they will be compelled to disclose in the announcement.
The banks have been monitoring employee emails very very closely since I first posted on this subject. Two employees of the bank cncerned have been suspended for what reason exactly we do not know.
