You obviously did not read the post properly - he said he accepted responsibility and paid all the money back. He just wants to get rid of the default to restore his credit rating. He could declared bankruptcy and avoided paying but instead paid the money.
The bank appears to have credit to someone with insufficient money to repay it - does the term "predatory lending" not mean anything to you?
