A truly truly terrible Indictment of the present Government, this brutalisation of the banks and the CBA.
Were the banks ever bailed out by the Government in Australia? I do not believe they were. How does the Government justify this tax? It seems alike modern day theft, to tax 5 particular companies within an economy.
A lot of geopolitical risk now in Australia. If this is what the center right party does, what would the socialist leaning labor party do?
The school system or one of them might be to blame. The first PM Barton from Sydney Grammar College had a lot of racist tendencies, the second PM from the same Sydney Grammar College lost LNP Government power to PM Whitlam after 23 years, he was apparently that bad and now this one looks like he could destroy the "ideology", principles and raison d'etre of the LNP after being in power for only two years.
Savage indictment of Australian politics and a difficult climate for CBA. Even Canada and New Zealand are better IMHO but pls DYOR.
Still the Government must have some reason for taxing them. Is it that the banks are expected to be the powerhouse of the economy for years to come in which all four banks must be a rip roaring buy? They would hardly hit banks if there profits were not assured to some degree.
