Fiat money is supposed to depreciate .....or didn't you know that? Do I leave my money in cash? What idiot would do that?
How about gold vs property (including rent) or gold vs the ASX (incl dividends).
Why doesn't everyone else have their money in gold if it's such a great deal, or are they just plain stupid?
