The interbank lending problem in the GFC recently shows the real problem.
Trust. There was none of it between banks at that time.
The only modicum of trust was the general population of the US and others bailing out
the mis trust.
Money is " trust " in its ability to continue over time to redeem any lien that may exist.
If banks cannot trust each other then their idea of " money " is pure fiction IMO.
And the general population will believe the same.
