[Dow Jones] Elders (ELD.AU) jumps 2 cents or 11% at 21 cents on heavy trading of 144 million shares. Buy rating held unchanged on ELD from Deutsche Bank with target price of 25 cents issued today wouldn't have hurt ELD.

Increasing likelihood of a big winter crop, with National Australia Bank forecasting 2009-10 wheat up 7.5% on year to 23 million metric tons, barley up 16% on year at 7.9 million tons, likely supporting ELD. While grain prices down sharply from mid-year, many farmers - particularly in Victoria, South Australia - might receive big checks for what could be record crop production, which they'll be spreading through agribusiness, including ELD.
