The second possibility would be what is occuring. I am constantly amazed that posters believe that a sp is going to jump the day they pour first metal, or, as with HDR they pumped first oil. These are long predicted events. The behavour of Redback Mining makes more sense. The sp was in a gentle rise right through first pour but it wasn't till the qtrly which showed the plant was operating at 110% plate capacity and the start-up went smoothly that the chart headed north.

So don't be short BSG a few months after startup.
