There is zero percent chance of that happening, especially in the US (I don't know about Australia). Ever since Citizens United was overturned by a corrupt supreme court, there is now no longer a limit on how much money you can spend on campaigns so it goes without saying that most of congress is in Wall Street's backpocket now. And the gas and oil lobby is still pretty powerful too.
Really can't depend on the government to come through on anything that would truly benefit EVs or Sayona. If it happens, that would be a complete surprise to me. The one hope I have is that the republicans lose control of the house this fall. That will remove a big obstacle.
