we didn't invent government to sit back and do nothing - and have 'freedom', freedom to do anything
we invented government to do things at societal level that are too big for us to do as individuals -
AND that INCLUDES protecting ourselves from business in complex transactions - protections so we don't get into unpayable debts, protections from shoddy irresponsible business
yes, there is such a thing as personal responsibility - but there's also such a thing as a lack of business responsibility, criminal behaviour, con tricks and the like - and we want government to have some control over that where possible
a very basic concept - totally missed in wackadoodledoodom - where misinformation is spread out by simpletons - which began as disinformation designed by profiteering business with no thought or responsibility for society or customers - just self gain
