    Most analysts predict rates to rise in the second half of this year, I am factoring in 50 basis points.

    Negative gearing - political kryptonite - but seriously has there ever been a better time than now to abolish it on established property? Interest rates are that low surely few people are highly leveraged enough to even really need it.

    That would give construction a massive injection of investment, and at least bring back suitable property for first home buyers to an affordable level.

    Current economic conditions you would be a brave man to rule out anything by the government, they want surpluses, but are drowning in debt.
