Looks like good advertising imo.
A thousand dollars cash sounds like so much more than a 0.1% cut in the interest rate for a mortgage.
Sadly for westpac marketing dept they have forgetten about the people they are not targetting with this promotion. That is, investors. Investors will see this promo as a sign of weakness.
