Thanks cherring! I was hoping someone would point out obvious failings in the stuff that floats out here from time to time.
BNB is an asset originator and developer. They create assets by doing deals. Once the deal is done they farm it out to a specialised fund to be acquired, managed and generate income streams.
Does anyone realise that Green has looked after the money of the Packers, Lowys, Smorgans etc.? He is a super funds guru and his specialisation is the financing of complex assets - he is able to unlock value because he can read the fine print and understand things which hide between the numbers.
Did anyone know that rail transport is now cheaper than truck and air in most parts of the world due to rising fuel and there are funds all over the US who are fighting to buy rail assets for their stable and predictable cash flows? Why do you think he has selected Angel Trains? It is because 40% of every rolling stock carriage whill be DBs and BNBs.
And about there gearing, some posters out here are saying they are too highly geared - says who? I own real estate and I borrow. I own managed funds and they borrow. I own a credit card and until the end of the month when it paid in full - I borrow! This stuff about their leverage is total crap.
BB Community declares a 38% gearing ratio - crikey, if they go any lower people will be saying they are not highly geared enough!!
Folks, BNB will be fine - the review event is a "check" put in by lenders who will want to double-check their own compliance and governance over downstream risk - their is not a loan call in sight at this point. BNB will sell their wind assets which, again, people are fighting over if we get a Democrat in he Whitehouse in November (there is likely to be ratification of the KP and a move to support carbon trading - how valuable will a wind power business be then?)
Let the dust settle, buy back in after the mini-bounce which may occur and give it 12-months.
Green is not dead, he is a problem solver - end of story.
