that's pretty hypocritical...and he is treating us like idiots to boot.
when labor first got in what Labor wasn't gunna do about those filthy rip off bank rogues was not worth mentioning....
But then the job went bad. Low growth, high inflation, financially hurting population. rates needed to rise to control inflation but that would be extremely unpopular. So Labor took the cowards way out. They kept rates on hold and let the banks independantly put up rates in the subprime aftermath....they let the banks do their dirty work. And during this time all we hear from our federal government is "cricket.....cricket......cricket...."
Now the economy is slowing and rates need to start coming down. All of a sudden Kevin Rudd is the working man's hero standing up against the banks.
i don't mind getting ripped off so much. i'm used to that. i just hate being treated like an idiot.
