Yes, I probably went off half cocked too early, as received this email this am, but pity Islamic organisation bought the place it seems.
Don't know why Bob Davis from Crestmead started the petition without all the facts;
..... "Here are the following facts regarding this issue:
- The old Revesby Heights Ex-Serviceman’s Club was sold by the Club. The new owner has lodged a development application to carry out minor work to the existing car park and reclassify the existing building as a community facility. A community facility cannot be used as a mosque and the misinformation being distributed in the community suggesting the latter is grossly incorrect and disappointing. (fyi, the DA is on public exhibition until 5 October, so no decision has been made).
- Further, local media reported, amid much fanfare in November 2014, the unveiling of a new more permanent Hero’s Hill War Memorial at Cox Reserve at Revesby Heights (see attached photo), after Council and the local Panania RSL sub-branch worked together to locate all the plaques and build the new structure. As you can see, this was almost two years ago!
It would be very much appreciated if you can assist us by getting this information out through your social media channels to debunk the inaccuracies.
Kind regards "
