“My question is this. Does the panel believe that housing Australians is more important than educating foreign students?" Knight intended to ask.
“And if so, will they reduce the number of foreign students in the country to 50,000, in order to free up housing for Australians?”
It comes after Greens campaigner Sophia Redjeb was allowed to ask a question last Monday on international students being unfairly blamed for the housing crisis, with Mr Knight deeming this hypocritical.
An ABC spokeswoman told the Daily Mail Australia there was a difference regarding the circumstances of their employment.
“Jordan Knight is a paid staffer. Q+A doesn't take questions from paid political staffers,” she said.
“Sophia Redjeb was interning for the Greens.”
