    Covers Opes Prime fall out

"Nobody represents Opes Prime's boom-and-bust impact on Perth as well as mining entrepreneur Nathan McMahon, who has played a hand in founding more than half a dozen exploration plays during the boom.

McMahon is a director of four resources companies that have suspended trading in their stock in recent days to avert a run.

Of most concern to him is a stake in Namibian uranium explorer Bannerman Resources that is worth about $26 million, although he also held stock through Opes Prime in other companies including Cazaly Resources and Blackham Resources.

McMahon first found out about Opes Prime through word of mouth. He says his only relief in an otherwise horrific week is that he only ever recommended the failed stockbroker to one person, who fortunately never got around to investing through the group.

"From a personal level it's really disappointing, but from a company level it's only a short term blip and I'm the only guy within the group that has suffered." "

near end of article (referring to Opes issue in general), and this is the question for ANZ, ASIC and the ASX to contemplate.....

"ANZ's position is that they have always been the beneficial owner of the shares.....so where were all of their substantial shareholder notices?"
