    Banning guns in total have merit but admittedly guns do have some legitimate constructive uses for civilians to have. One of which is the fact that primary producers do often have problems with pests and they do need to shoot them in order to protect their livelihood. There are others like professional hunters, recreational shooters, etc. So there are legitimates uses for civilian to have but there are very few.

    Criminals do have guns but relaxing the law would mean that more of them and potential criminals would have them. It is after all an equation that balances itself. You can’t have such effective tool in the hands of the many and not backfire. There really isn’t a good reason to derestrict firearms here in Australia.
