To use CE1 as a comparison to BRK only serves to highlight what would be a worst case scenario outcome for investors. CE1 has,
- has never meet a quarterly production target
- sells assets for a fraction of their cost & capital expenditure to develop,
- most recently to a competitor chaired by a director who also is a CE1 director
- has extensive related party transactions over many years
- pay "performance" rights to directors for time served rather than any fiscal hurdle
- pay "dividends" following a CR or asset sale, when there is no FCF from production
- propose to withhold $15M from an asset sale to continue servicing the compensation of 5 directors, including the wife of the chairman
So many red flags, none of which applies to BRK.
