I'm positive about the stock, not the stock price.
I base the quality of a stock on what assets it has, what it is doing with those assets, the risk involved to execute, the sustainability of the business, the profit potential and fundamental ratios amongst other things..
Your main criteria to differentiate a quality stock from a dog stock seems to be primarily share price based. If it goes up it's quality, if it goes down or doesn't move , it's a dog. If you make money on a stock, you are a genius, if you lose money, it's the stocks fault.
By that criteria, BRE X and Poseidon Nickle were quality stocks until they weren't, and all the shareholder returns gained during their meteoric rises were wiped out when they were found out.
But regardless of the share price at any stage, they were always dog stocks with no real assets pumped by hyper and fraud.
BRK is not the only stock I post on, but is is the one I spend most of my time because it is my largest individual holding, and it is the one stock I can make a contribution to understanding the nuances around it's story.
If I'm a company plant then I reckon that will make me the most unsuccessful plant in ASX history, judging by the way the stock price has responded .
"with management using company money for who knows what etc etc just makes ya wonder"... really??, you say that when the company is operating a US$40 million development spend of which their share is ~US$26 million.
What is more interesting is your motivation in posting on a stock you no longer hold, and where you lost a bucket load speculating big time on out of the money options... smells like doggone bitterness.
I can't debate an argument based on .. " the stock is a dog because the share price has gone no where for 5 years".. if that is the only criteria then the evidence on that is irrefutable.
But I can and will debate the argument that " the stock is a dog and it's going no where, because it's share price has gone no where for 5 years."
BRK has only just started playing the game. Everything that has happened in the past 5 years up to the FMDP was training.
I'll wear your accusation of being a BRK plant as a badge of honour. Tells me what I am writing may actually make some sense and have some merit... so thanks for that.
