Someone wanted to buy 51700 on open at .01. Some other seller took advantage of this by placing a sell order for 51699 at .009. If they matched or exceeded the number of shares if would have opened at .009 instead of .01. If the seller simply put 51699 for sale at .01 they would have been put to back of que and their shares wouldn't have sold. Would have been whoever was at the front of the que.
