They only way to extract their oil is to drill horizontal fracked wells....this wasn't done previously because no one was drilling horizontal fracked Sycamore and Woodford wells in Carter until recently.

BRK hold pieces of the giant" oilfield" and just need to successfully drill and complete HZ fracked wells to get the hydrocarbons out. They know how much the rocks should produce from their analysis and their " concept" has been proven by the likes of Casillas, Camino and Continental who have drilled and laced on production wells from both zones , most have come in at IP24 flow rates between 1000 and 2000 BOEPD. You can see a list of these wells and locations in the AGM presentation

That is why they know what type , configuration , processing and storage facilities they need for the production they know they will get.
