Yes I forgot to mention that I was presuming that the water pumped in to the well to stimulate would work to open the fractures and encourage the hydrocarbons to be expelled in to the fissures, then pipe and up. With the frac water leading the way back out of the system, prior to the oil.
What I clearly forgot was that the hydrocarbons don't flow on their own pressure, they need to be pumped out. So in that respect it was a dumb question. The oil effectively seeps in to the horizontal section and the pump brings that to the surface. It's not like there is some pressure build up that forces flow like a geyser.
So thank you for the clarification and information about how the fissures are kept open. Until the pump is pumping oil and gas we really won't know the flows, how quickly the frac water comes back to the surface isn't really relevant to how quickly the oil and gas seeps in to the pipe.
