A well that is a duster...nope BRK have provided all the news on Jewel / Rangers and Flames have not begun completion. Debt issues...nope BRK have no debt. Oil well explosion...nope would have been all over the news

It was either
1. Someone with a very large holding wanting to hammer the price and spook investors to get stock cheaply (or possibly options) - very unlikely and highly illegal
or
2. A large holder got margin called and auto liquidated by the broker - more likely
