    True. I think they had too much size in a speccy and had to offload in an illiquid market to sponsor another position or reduce overall exposure. The only way to offload that size fast is to line wipe.

    Think about it, traders need to be enacting their war plans in this environment. Especially instos. There's loads of firms o/s that would take a punt on an oiler leading into times like this for a position trade. Pretty sure the oil price comes into it, it's been chopping around before it's next major move since March. Italy is paying Rubles, others would do the same if they can. The EU can't get everyone onboard for an embargo because this is a save yourself first global scenario.

    We can speculate all we like, but spec stonks get cut in half during crashes and higher quality stocks drop 30%. I'm quick to cut specs and did so back in November so I can handle the volatility whilst being busy elsewhere.

    I guess they were just tending to their business....
