I hear you, but I disagree to the extent that our market should be where it was 15 years ago... No! I disagree vehemently! We are under-priced and under valued. There are a long list of factors in this, as has been pointed out. But for anyone who wants to map it... go ahead;
Map our resources (materials) sector against the US
Map our energy sector against anyone
Map our oil and gas sector within Energy, against rest of the world.
Finally "The US indexes are dominated by large scalable tech companies with global monopolies" like who?
Apple - down 41% in the last 6 months

Alphabet - down 23% in the last 6 months
etc, etc
If we compare the S&P and the Russell, I think there is a strong case that we are under valued and that despite the headwinds in this next year, we might actually do ok.
